Elite Stream Auditions and Elite Program Scholarships

GWB Studios is excited to be rolling out a comprehensive dance progarm in 2020.

The Elite stream is for students who demonstrate a high level of skill and facility in dance and will accelerate a dancer’s training and full potential under the direction of Lisa Eardley Brame.

Elite Audition and Scholarship Day – Saturday 18 January 2020

To be considered for GWB Studios’ Elite, dancers must attend the Audition, during which time the assessment panel will also review dancers for the 2020 Scholarships.

If you are unable to make the Audition, one-on-one 20-minute assessments with Lisa Eardley Brame can be arranged.

GWB Studios will be offering the following scholarships in 2020 to encourage and recognise students’ potential.

To be considered for a Scholarship, dancers must attend the Elite Audition and Scholarship day on 11 January.

The Elite workshop has been development exclusively for GWB Studios and will include: Stretch and Strength – Kicks-Legs-Turns [KLT] – Ballet Technique – Style Combinations

*Please note each workshop will have a 30 minute nutrition break. Please pack a healthy snack and labelled non-spill drink bottle of water for your dancer.

Your choice! Pick your side – East Coast, West Coast or try BOTH combination masterclasses!

East Coast Combinations – Classical and Broadway style movements shape this masterclass.

West Coast Combinations – Contemporary and Edgy movements shape this masterclass.



Private Lessons with Lisa Eardley Brame

Progress your ballet technique, improve your strength and control, achieve connected rotation in ballet, improve stamina and endurance, create more flexibility and higher extensions.

Private one on one coaching is $100 for one hour.
Small group coaching is $70 for one hour per dancer (up to four dancers).


International Dance Technique

International Dance Technique

Created by Lucy Ellis and Kylie Norris, International Dance Technique is an exam syllabus created to develop plyometric agility, strength, fitness, flexibility and strong jazz technique.

Classes commence in Term 4 at GWB Studios. Bookings:

Stefaan Morrow

Born in Adelaide, Stefaan Morrow began his training in classical ballet at age 9 before continuing his study at the New Zealand School of Dance on scholarship. Stefaan was an artist with the Singapore Dance Theatre, the Theater Pforzheim in Germany and Zfin Malta Dance Ensemble, before moving back to Adelaide where he trains the next generation of dancers.

July School Holiday Dance Program 

GWB Studios is proud to present a July school holidays dance program for Juniors and Seniors. This is the perfect opportunity for those wishing to increase their dance education in a supported environment. Meet other dancers your age, try out various dance genres and most importantly have fun… BUT get ready as it’s SIX classes per day!

Dance genres will include Stretch & Flex, Ballet Technique, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Jazz, Show Girl and Technique.

Lacie Roberts Stage Make-up

GWB Studios is presenting two Stage Make-up Workshops by professional make-up artist Lacie Roberts who was also a professional dancer who graced the stage of Le Moulin Rouge in Paris.

Parents and their Dancers – All ages, Saturday 20 July
Learn how to apply stage make-up on your dancing daughter or son that is designed to work best under stage lighting and is suitable for children’s skin.
Just Dancers – 10 + years, Saturday 20 July
You may know the basics but here’s an opportunity to pick up what suits you, tips and tricks from a professional dancer and make-up artist.

Imogen Walters

Adelaide dancer Imogen Walters conducted an exclusive workshop at GWB Studios on 28 June 2019.

Currently studying at the most prestigious ballet institution in the world – the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in St Petersberg, Russia, Imogen brought her experience back to GWB Studios for a special one-off workshop.

She provided a special and rare insight into the technique and training at the Vaganova Academy.

Alec Roberts

Adelaide dancer Alec Roberts conducted a one-off masterclass with Adelaide dancers at GWB Studios on 23 June 2019.

Alec’s dancing career began in Adelaide with the Elayne Cherry Dance Centre before moving to Melbourne to attend The Australian Ballet School. Alec has been an artist with the Queensland Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada and is now an artist with Boston Ballet, USA.

Krista King-Doherty and Juliet Doherty 

The dynamic mother-daughter duo conducted classical and contemporary masterclasses at GWB Studios on 18 April 2019.

Official MDM Dance Muse Juliet Doherty trained at the San Francisco Ballet School, is a two-time Gold Medallist at the Youth America Grand Prix and received the Special Jury Prize at the Beijing International Ballet Competition in China. Her mother Krista King-Doherty is currently on the faculty of Master Ballet Academy in Arizona and received the Avant Garde award for choreography from ADC/IBC in 2018 and Outstanding Choreographer award from YAGP in 2018.

GWB Studios offers two dance studio space, located just minutes from the Adelaide CBD.

The Brookman Studio is the larger studio at 15m x 17m. Features include:

  • Sprung Tarkett floor with ballet barres and mirrors
  • Air-conditioning
  • PA System
  • Acro-mat

The Griffin Williams Studio is the smaller studio at 15m x 8.5m. Features include:

  • Sprung Tarkett floor with ballet barres and mirrors
  • Air-conditioning
  • PA System

Other available features:

  • Portable double ballet barres
  • 12 metre long airtrack

GWB Studios is located at 50 Sir Donald Bradman Drive, Mile End which is just a five-minute drive from the heart of Adelaide.
