Celebrate the Sydney Opera House's 50th anniversary with the explosive revival of Peter Shaffer’s Tony and Academy Award-winning masterpiece Amadeus.
Starring acclaimed actor Michael Sheen (The Twilight Saga, The Queen, Masters of Sex, Good Omens) as Antonio Salieri and two Sydney based actors, Rahel Romahn (Here Out West, Shantaram, Lord of The Flies) as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Lily Balatincz (Constellations, The Eggs, Stop the Virgens) as Constanze Mozart.
This ambitious contemporary production, staged in the newly completed Concert Hall will feature forty performers, including actors, opera singers and musicians from The Metropolitan Orchestra, conducted by Sarah-Grace Williams and lavish costumes directed by Australian fashion house Romance Was Born.
Reimagining the lives of Salieri and Mozart, the tale is fuelled by ambition, obsession, and betrayal. Uncover Salieri’s inner torment as he grapples with Mozart’s genius and sets out to destroy the brilliant, flamboyant young star.
