GWB Entertainment in association with MDM presented masterclasses with mother-daughter duo Krista King-Doherty and Juliet Doherty in Sydney and Adelaide earlier this year.

 

Official MDM Dancewear Muse, Juliet trained at the San Francisco Ballet School on full scholarship from 2012-2015, is a two time Gold Medalist at the Youth America Grand Prix, and received the Special Jury Prize at the Beijing International Ballet Competition in China.

Most recently, Juliet has appeared as the lead in two feature films, Driven to Dance on Netflix and High Strung: Free Dance premiering summer 2019.

Juliet comes from a family of four generations of dancers and shall be joined by her mother Krista, whose students have qualified in both the solo and ensemble divisions of the Youth America Grand Prix Finals in New York City. Her students and choreography have repeatedly won the Youth Grant Prix Award, Grand Prix Award and the Hope Award. In 2017, Krista’s piece won the Gold Medal in contemporary pas de deux division at YAGP NYC Finals.

 

Krista is currently on the faculty of Master Ballet Academy in Arizona and received the Avant Garde award for choreography from ADC/IBC in 2018 and Outstanding Choreographer award from YAGP in 2018.

 

The masterclasses were proudly supported by Tanya Pearson Academy in Sydney, Dance Zone and The Stage Shop in Adelaide.
